This year Newbury Pride is coming to you from the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Park. With two stages, live music, fun and laughter, even some serious stuff, food and drink and a market area with lots of local products for you to choose from.
In the lead up to Newbury Pride we went to Thatcham Family Fun Day on the 29th June. Our friends at Blatella Films produced this marvellous film for us.
Newbury Pride has been delighted to work again this year with Thatcham Town Council to help bring to the town that most wonderful of days – Thatcham Family Fun Day. It was a scorching hot day yet we all had a great deal of fun, joy and laughter with rainbows appearing everywhere symbolizing the love, acceptance and inclusion of and for the entire community. The rainbow march was a highlight of the afternoon’s festivities winding its way amongst the stalls to end in front of the main stage ready for the new mayor to leap on stage to make her welcoming address. And we were visited by fairies, princesses and even superheroes who took time from their usual duties to bring joy, bubbles and even some training to budding ballet dancers and superheroes too. Thanks to the Princess Academy, Dance Fusion Academy, Enchanted Performers and Beatroots Beateria for their help.
We truly hope that everyone that came along, guests and stall holders alike, enjoyed the day and look forward to returning next year. But the end of the rainbow has not been reached, come along to Newbury’s Victoria Park next weekend for the main Pride event where the rainbows will be bigger and better than ever.
